About Us

Saljo’s Pizza is an Italian eatery that held up this corner of a strip mall in Pantego, Texas for more than a decade. Sal Kolic, who was born in Montenegro, across the Adriatic Sea from Italy . He escaped genocide in his home country by moving to New York City. There he learned the business of pizza. In 1996 he fulfilled a childhood dream to move to Texas and the wild west. Although he was disappointed by the number of cowboys on horseback, he fell in love with the friendly vibe and welcoming community. He brought his love of New York Italian food and worked hard until he was able to open his own restaurant in 2010. Now he works hard to give back all the hospitality he has been shown.
